What is the Centre for Innovation (CFI)?
The Centre for Innovation (CFI) is a project-based virtual entity (rather than a physical setup) that serves as a central mechanism to coordinate and implement various innovative projects of the University. The CFI has three principal responsibilities:
1. | Research the innovative use of emerging technologies, advanced applications and improved pedagogical practices to assess their feasibility and applicability in the OUHK environment.
2. | Develop innovative practices by applying mature and proven technologies to enhance academic offerings and operations, and optimize student learning processes and administrative efficiencies.
3. | Implement technologies and pedagogies known to be useful to educational delivery but not yet deployed due to resource and time constraints. |
The Centre will be able to facilitate the conversion of innovative ideas into feasible projects that will help the OUHK to develop the infrastructure needed for modern e-learning. The University has received a Government grant of $ 62.8 M for the CFI project.
